Aluminum foil can be produced by the tape production method, with a small thickness, the maximum thickness can reach 0.0025 mm, and the maximum width can reach 1800 mm. Aluminum foil rolling is rollless rolling, and the rolls are always in an elastic flat state. During the rolling process, the thickness of the foil can be controlled by adjusting the rolling force, rolling speed and controlling the tension. In the rough rolling process, the rolling force is used to control the thickness of the foil. In the finishing rolling process, the thickness of the foil decreases as the rolling speed increases; the greater the tension, the smaller the thickness; in order to prevent chipping, the tension is usually selected as the foil. The conditional yield strength of the material is 0.2 to 0.4 of σ0.2. In low-speed rolling, "heavy oil" or "thin oil" is usually added to the lubricating oil to adjust the rolling thickness of the aluminum foil. The condition of the lubricant and the roller has a very important influence on the quality of the foil. The aluminum foil blank comes from cold rolled aluminum coils, usually pre-annealed at 340-480°C, with a thickness of 0.4-0.7 mm. The pass deformation rate during rolling is about 50%, and the total deformation rate can reach more than 95%. The finished foil with a thickness of less than 0.01-0.02 mm should be rolled and double-rolled.
Aluminum foil can be divided into industrial aluminum foil and packaging aluminum foil. Industrial aluminum foil has a relatively pure chemical composition, with a thickness of 0.005 to 0.2mm. In the electrical and electronic industries, it is mainly used as a capacitor, heat insulating material and moisture-proof material. The thickness of the packaging aluminum foil is usually 0.007 to 0.1 mm. There are various products such as flat foil, printed foil, spray-painted printed foil and laminated aluminum foil. They are mainly used as packaging materials for food, tea, cigarettes, etc.
