There are many advantages to using composite aluminum foil as a battery. 
 
Security is very good. When the battery energy management is out of control to generate heat, it is difficult for the sealed hard shell of the square cylindrical battery to dissipate heat. Once the internal pressure of the battery is too high, it will cause an explosion. In contrast, soft-pack batteries will expand only when they are overheated, and they are not easy to explode;
 
Lighter weight. Because the aluminum-plastic film is thin and light, the soft pack battery is 40% lighter than the steel shell lithium battery of the same capacity, and 20% lighter than the aluminum shell battery. The weight saved by the battery shell can allow new energy vehicles to install more batteries, and can also make the body lightweight, and in short, have a longer cruising range;
 
Flexible design. The shape of the soft pack battery can be customized to any thickness and shape according to customer needs. In this way, car manufacturers can make more reasonable use of the space in the car (for example, insert more batteries).
 
Aluminum plastic film is not complicated to say. Its structure is a bit like a sandwich, with aluminum foil sandwiched between the inner and outer layers of polymer (roughly understood as plastic). The outermost layer is nylon or PET (polyethylene terephthalate) to prevent scratches on the aluminum foil in the middle. The aluminum foil in the middle layer plays a role in preventing the intrusion of oxygen and moisture. The innermost layer is usually modified polypropylene, which plays a role of sealing and bonding.
